The Shoes
Finding the right shoes for yourself is one of the most important things when it comes to running as choosing the wrong ones could result in injury. Make sure you go to a specialist running shop and get your gait analysed as this helps determine if you need any support in your shoes, or if you’re a neutral runner; knowing this is one of the most important things.

The Clothing
In all fairness, anything can be running gear (we see people dress as a banana and run the London marathon every year) but I can’t recommend this whilst running around the streets of your town. Shorts and a top do a perfectly adequate job in summer, but when winter arrives, you want to make sure that you’re wearing clothing that’s not only protecting you from the elements but also keeping you cool. Keeping cool whilst running in winter might sound odd but you will soon get nice and warm when running, so it’s important not to overheat. By investing in a few key pieces, you’ll be starting off on the right foot.

Nike Dri-Fit Challenger Tight – £40.00
Nike Miler Tee – £28.00
Having the correct clothing for the weather is important, but the most vital element is your enjoyment. Running does more than just improve your physical health, it benefits your mental health more than people know. Use the time on your run to turn off from daily life and focus on pushing your body beyond limits you didn’t think possible.
